We highly recommend going through the city of Point Arena to enjoy all it has to offer and to get your bearings. This map shows our preferred route in blue, though it takes a few minutes longer.

Directions from the City of Point Arena

Turn east onto Riverside Drive at the top of the hill in Point Arena
Drive straight for 4 miles; the road will change names a few times, ultimately becoming Ten Mile Rd
Our address, 25284 will be posted on a tree along with many other address signs at our shared gravel road. A wooden sign with our name and logo will also be posted here
Turn right onto our shared gravel road. Please observe the 15 mph speed limit
Travel .5 miles down the road. Our driveway will be on the right
Park near the sheds or at the ADA parking available at the Visitors Center.
There is a short trail through the trees from the parking area to the Visitors Center where a forest steward will be awaiting your arrival

Important Tips

When possible, do not travel on Mountain View Road. Utilize the alternative routes that are available. Traveling on 128 all the way to Hwy 1 adds 20 minutes to your trip, but involves more favorable road conditions.
Hwy 1 is a beautiful scenic highway. Take your time and enjoy the sights along the way! There are several opportunities marked with Coastal Access signs along the way.
Our forest is located on the Mendocino Coast — it’s incredibly peaceful, but cell phone service can be unreliable.
We recommend wearing sneakers or hiking boots and bringing a jacket. We have walking sticks, hand-warmers, and umbrellas in case the weather takes a turn for the worse.

Bird Supper Club: Local treasure and available curbside right on Main St.
Thai Kitchen: Authentic Thai cuisine, offers to go, limited outdoor seating, and a local favorite
Vue Kitchen: Seafood, short ribs, fish and chips, and a variety of hard-to-resist comfort food, like meatloaf and spaghetti and meatballs, are on the menu.
St. Orres: North Coast Cuisine is served in the main dining room, from fresh seafood to wild game, while lighter fare can be enjoyed in The Seaside Bar.

Point Arena Lighthouse: Located 2 miles from our forest, the 150-year-old lighthouse features a museum, tours, and incredible views of the Pacific Coast.
B. Bryan Preserve: This private preserve that’s home to various species of zebras, giraffes, and antelopes—all of which are endangered—is just 1 mile away.
Bowling Ball Beach: A 3-mile drive from our forest, Schooner Gulch State Beach features huge stones that look like oversized bowling balls.
Stornetta Lands National Monument: View the incredible sea rocks and islands that comprise this coastal treasure, which sits 3 miles from our forest.
