At Better Place Forests, our mission is to help inspire everyone to leave a more meaningful legacy for the planet and the people they love. This means we love collaborating with individuals and organizations dedicated to protecting our Earth as part of their legacy. So today we want to spotlight one nonprofit we’re honored to call our partner: One Tree Planted, an organization focused on global reforestation. In 2020, we’re working hand-in-hand with them to achieve one ambitious goal for 2020: plant 50,000 trees in support of their Million Tree Challenge to help conserve our country’s forests.
One Tree Planted + Better Place Forests = A Partnership to Leave the Earth Better
Better Place Forests conserves valuable forest land by offering customers a protected family tree where they can spread ashes for generations to come. Every person who chooses a tree in one of our forests helps to conserve and preserve that forest. As the organization that founded America’s first conservation memorial forests, we’re proud to provide our nature-minded customers a sustainable alternative to traditional burials. An option where they feel like their legacy gives back to the Earth for generations to come.
We closely collaborate with local communities and stakeholders in this effort, and actively seek partners who are aligned in our goal to help protect the planet. One of those partners, One Tree Planted, plays a critical role in our Impact Trees program, which enables us to plant additional trees throughout California to reforest areas affected by drought or fire. This helps our customers make a long-lasting impact extending beyond their memorial tree when they choose Better Place Forests.
As One Tree Planted’s partner, we share the goal of conserving iconic forestland in California and beyond.
How You Can Help: Help Better Place Forests Plant 50,000 Trees
If you’re a customer and part of our beloved community, you’ve already made a huge difference. With your help, we’ve planted over 10,000 trees in 2019 which, once matured, will sequester over 2,630,000 pounds of CO2 per year. This is the equivalent of taking 360 cars off the road!
For the rest of 2020, we’ve decided to up the ante.
We’ve signed up for an even bigger goal: the Million Tree Challenge 2020. Hosted by One Tree Planted, the Million Tree Challenge challenges its global network of 100 environmentally-conscious companies to work together in planting over one million trees in 2020.
As part of this initiative, we’re giving ourselves an ambitious goal of multiplying our 2019 impact by 5x by planting (drumroll, please)… 50,000 trees!
